BACK2STONEWALL: It's the 100th anniversary of Different from the Others, the first-ever gay-themed movie. The 1919 German film was reviled by right-wingers when it was made, and the complete original print was lost. In 1926, remaining parts were cut into a documentary on tolerance. The film stars acclaimed actor Conrad Veidt (1893-1943) as a teacher and Fritz Schulz (1896-1972) as his student lover.
