Tom Moulton’s Best Unreleased Mixes: Madonna, Donna & More

Producer Tom Moulton is the legend whose remixing in the Disco Era led to virtually every pop single receiving the full remix treatment, revolutionizing dance music and the music industry itself by providing new creative — and revenue — opportunities for artists.

Now, the 79-year-old remixed has released a $20 album of what he considers some of his best unreleased gems.

Kicking it off is an absolutely sterling remix of Madonna's "Borderline," of which he tells me, "I always liked it and wanted to do a version for myself. After I played it for a few people, they wished it would be available."

Well, wishes do come true!

Along with "Borderline," the set contains work by Billy Ocean, Thelma Houston, Sly & the Family Stone, Imagination, Donna Summer, Diana Ross and Richard Darbyshire.

  1. Wow. Tom was the originator of the remix. Thanks for the tip. I’ve got to pick this up.
