John Turturro appeared June 5, 2023, at the Museum of the City of New York, submitting to a lively Q&A with journalist Alison Stewart (yes, she of MTV fame) about his long career.
The talk was meant to highlight the institution's current exhibition, This is New York: 100 Years of the City in Art and Pop Culture, which coincides with its centennial.
Turturro, 66, has over 100 IMDb credits, going all the way back to an uncredited appearance in Raging Bull (1980) and including such diverse works as Desperately Seeking Susan (1985), Do the Right Thing (1989), Barton Fink (1991), Mac (1992), Clockers (1995), Grace of My Heart (1996), The Big Lebowski (1998), Romance & Cigarettes (2005), The Night Of (2016), Gloria Bell (2018), The Batman (2022) and the series Severance (2022-present), which is about to unveil Season 2.
The talk was so charming! Turturro had many entertaining stories about NYC and making movies, so much so I fear we left many untapped.
