Rocketman, the highly-anticipated new film about the life and career of Elton John, 72, had its splashy NYC premiere on May 29 — and if the red carpet is any indication, the film is definitely getting a warm embrace from the entertainment world.

Billed as an "epic musical fantasy about the uncensored human story" of John, the film — directed by Dexter Fletcher, 53 — brought out everyone from Ellen Burstyn, 86, to Valerie Simpson, 72, to Darren Criss, 32, to its starry cast, including Taron Egerton, 29; Richard Madden, 32; Jamie Bell, 33; and Bryce Dallas Howard, 38.

The film, which is said to pull no punches regarding John's sexuality, received a standing "O" at Cannes this month.

Baz Luhrmann is looking a bit, um… I don’t have a word for it, but it’s unfortunate he’s going the plastic surgery route and not aging naturally– he’d be much handsomer that way. A shame.
