Natalie Wood’s Daughter Speaks About Her Death in New Doc

A new trailer for the HBO doc Natalie Wood: What Remains Behind reveals her daughter, Natasha Gregson Wagner, speaking with great vulnerability about her late mom.

"The day my mom died, my entire world was shattered. Since then, there's been so much focus on how she died that it's overshadowed who she was as a person," Wagner, 49, says.

Others who speak about Wood in the trailer — along with stunning footage of Wood herself — include Jane Fonda, Mia Farrow, daughter Courtney Wagner, Robert Redford and more.

Compellingly, we are shown a piece of an interview Wagner conducted with her dad, Robert Wagner, now 90. He speaks about buying the Splendour, the boat on which Wood, her husband and Christopher Walken were pleasure-cruising when Wood drowned at 43 in 1981.

"I don't think there's a day that has ever gone by that I haven't thought about Natalie," Robert Wagner says. It's a powerful moment, in that so many fans are convinced he murdered Wood — but his family clearly thinks no such thing.

Natalie Wood: What Remains Behind, directed by Laurent Bouzereau, airs May 5 on HBO.
