Debbie Reynolds: A 90th Birthday Remembrance

Today, April 1, marks the 90th anniversary of the birth of Debbie Reynolds.

I first encountered her at her Cafe Carlyle show in NYC in 2009. She was just great! And she guess my partner and I were gay, inviting me to "touch my one good leg" even though we clearly didn't "give a shit":

In 2012, I got to meet her at Cinecon. I'm so glad I flew out for that — I met a lot of older stars and had a blast.

Plus, I got to witness her and Carleton Carpenter singing an impromptu rendition of "Aba Daba Honeymoon":

I am also remembering how lucky I was to have gone to the October 2016 screening of Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds's doc at which Debbie called in.

Two months later, both were dead.

They don't make them like Debbie Reynolds anymore.
