THE GUARDIAN: The dancing-a-jig is up for a septuagenarian alleged to have stolen a pair of ruby slippers from 1939's The Wizard of Oz in 2005. A grand jury has indicted Terry Martin on charges related to the theft, which occurred at the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. The shows were recovered in 2018 by the FBI in a sting. Martin has a rap sheet that includes theft. The shoes are one of four known existing pairs, and are worth over $3M.
